Karakia mo te Whakakati i te Kawhena (Prayer for the closing of a casket)

Minita:

E te Atua kaha rawa
E inoi ana matou ki a koe,
Kia whakatata mai koe ki a ia
Ka whakangaro atu nei i a matou
I tënei wā (ata, rä)

Moe mai koe e te whaea
(matua, mokopuna etc.)

Ka ngaro kanohi atu nei koe i a matou;
Ma to tātou Ariki koe hei manaaki, hei arataki,
Ka hïkoi wairua atu nei koe ki mua ki a ia;
Kei a ia te maramatanga hei awhi i a koe
Kei a ia te aroha kia kore koe e noho mokemoke
Kei a ia te käinga tuturu,
te wāhi okioki mo tatou katoa;

Haere ki a ia i runga i te aroha o to whanau
Haere i runga i te rangimārie
o te Atua e kore nei e taea te whakaaro.

Minister:

Almighty God,
draw near to N….

We pray, as we say goodbye
and as he/she no longer
sees the light of this day

May God bless you and uplift you
as your spirit leads you into God’s holy presence,
May his light and his love embrace you
and welcome you
so that you will never be alone again,
but find eternal rest in the true home
that awaits us all.

Go in the love of your whanau
and may the peace of God
that is beyond all understanding
be yours this day and always.  Amen.

Ta tatou hïmene ‘Whakaaria mai…’
(ko Te Houora,
I Roto i te Tohu,
Tama Ngākau Mārie rānei )

Our Hïmene :  Whakaaria mai
                     Te Houora
I roto i te tohu o te hë
                     Tama ngākau mārie

Kua akona nei tātou e tō tātou Ariki,
ka inoi tātou

E tō mātou Matua i te rangi
Kia tapu tōu Ingoa.
Kia tae mai tōu rangatiratanga.
Kia meatia tāu e pai ai
ki runga ki te whenua,
kia rite anō ki tō te rangi.
Hōmai ki a mātou āianei
he taro mā mātou mō tēnei rā.
Murua ō mātou hara,
Me mātou hoki e muru nei
i ō te hunga e hara ana ki a mātou.
Āua hoki mātou e kawea kia whakawaia;
Engari whakaorangia mātou i te kino:
Nōu hoki te rangatiratanga, te kaha,
me te korōria,
Āke ake ake.    Āmine.

As Christ teaches us we pray

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.    Amen.

Te Manaaki

Kia tau ki a tātou katoa
Te atawhai o tō tātou Ariki, a Ihu Karaiti
Me te aroha o te Atua
Me te whiwhingatahitanga
Ki te wairua tapu
Ake, ake, ake. Āmine.

The Blessing

The grace of our lord Jesus Christ
And the love of God
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
Be with us all evermore.  Amen.

Perhaps a Hïmene to finish up with.
