Nga Rangatahi mo Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu
Kia ora everyone and welcome to the Rangatahi page for Waipounamu!
For those who don’t know me (and most of you won’t), my name is Rawinia Gray and I am Youth Enabler for Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu.
Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu run activities for Rangatahi (Youth) and Tamariki (Children) in Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Every year we run two regional schools – summer and winter – for Rangatahi and Tamariki from all over the South Island. We spend a week getting to know each other and sharing our faith through all sorts of fun activities.
Between these schools, we run two youth groups weekly: ‘WAMM’ in Nelson and ‘T-DUB-P Otautahi’ in Christchurch.
Dunedin and Invercargill are still setting up their youth groups, so watch this site for news tha they are up and running. We also offer Sunday school for Tamariki, and Youth schools for Rangatahi every Sundays.
I believe Rangatahi and Tamariki have the right to decide on their own programmes and events in Te Waipounamu. Christchurch has therefore set up a Youth Council who meet once a month to discuss young people's issues and to decide what actions to take.
Feel free to come along and become part of a fun-loving team!
